A professional cleaning handles the floors, restrooms and surfaces. Five small habits from your own team keep the space looking clean in between, and they make each professional visit easier and faster.
1. Clear the desks before leaving
Surfaces that are clear can be wiped. Surfaces that hold papers, cups and cables are skipped, because cleaners do not move personal items. A simple rule of a clear desktop at the end of the day makes the biggest difference.
2. Wipe the shared surfaces
Keep a pack of wipes in the break room and at reception. Ask staff to wipe the table, the microwave handle and the coffee machine after use. These are the points that many hands touch each day.
3. Deal with spills and food at once
A spill that dries becomes a stain, and food left in a desk drawer becomes a smell. Put a clear rule on the break room wall: label food, and empty the refrigerator every Friday.
4. Use entry mats and a no-shoes zone where it fits
Most floor dirt comes in on shoes. A good mat at every outside door captures much of it, and a shoe rack suits studios and some treatment rooms.
5. Report problems early
Name one person who tells the cleaning company about a broken fixture, a leak, a new spill pattern or a task that was missed. A short email the same day is better than a complaint at the end of the month.
